MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. – Senior
Taylor Houseman (Rushford/Wellsville) finished in 44th place out of 48 swimmers in the 200-yard individual medley during the first day of competition at the NCAA Div. III Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. The four-day meet is being hosted by Beloit College (Wis.) and the College of Wooster (Ohio) at the University of Minnesota's Aquatic Center.
Houseman recorded a time of 2:13.85 in the preliminaries and did not advance to the championship or consolation finals in the event.
Houseman is scheduled to compete in two more events – the 100-yard breaststroke on Friday and the 200-yard breaststroke on Saturday. She actually qualified for nationals in those two events (sixth-best seed time in the 200-yard breaststroke and 17th-best time in the 100-yard breaststroke), while she elected to swim in the 200-yard individual medley since she was allowed to choose a third event in which to compete.
