Dan Evans won the consolation final in the 100-yard breaststroke and finished ninth overall nationally

Dan Evans (Hamburg) earned honorable mention All-America honors for the second time with a ninth-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle during the final day of competition at the NCAA Div. III Men's Swimming and Diving Championships. The meet was held in conjunction with the women's championships over four days at the University of Minnesota.
Evans broke his own SUNYAC and school records with a time of 44.98 seconds to win the consolation finals and take ninth place overall. The ninth through 16th-place finishers are honorable mention All-Americans. Evans was 14th in the prelims with a time of 45.22 seconds despite his goggles breaking just prior to the race.
Combined with his 15th-place finish Wednesday in the 50-yard freestyle, Evans scored 11 team points as Cortland's lone male representative. Cortland finished in 43rd place out of 61 schools that scored points in the final team standings.
