Phill Wiltshire (Vestal) and junior
Gino Bisceglia (Norwood/Norwood-Norfolk) qualified for the finals with a school-record time of 3:14.08 during Day 1 of the NCAA Div. III Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
The Red Dragon quartet tied for the seventh best time in a field of 15 teams. They broke their own school record of 3:14.20 set earlier this month. Cortland will be one eight teams competing in the finals Saturday at 4:55 p.m. and just by finishing the race will earn All-America honors with a top-eight finish.
Competition at Baldwin-Wallace College continues Friday with Bisceglia running in the 400-meter dash at 4:25 p.m. On Saturday, freshman
P.J. Flynn (Valhalla) will compete in the triple jump.
