CORTLAND, N.Y. – Senior
Adam Dimino (Honeoye Falls/Honeoye Falls-Lima) went 4-for-5 with a double, four RBI and three runs scored as part of Cortland's 19-hit attack as the Red Dragons defeated Plattsburgh, 13-5, in a SUNYAC tournament elimination game.
Cortland (31-8-1), ranked 10th in Div. III, will face Oneonta in an elimination game Sunday at noon. That game was originally slated for Saturday, but poor weather forced late starts for the first two games of the day, forcing the postponement of the third game.
Brockport advanced to the championship round with a 10-6 win over Oneonta on Nathan Parrino's walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the ninth inning. The Cortland-Oneonta winner on Sunday will play Brockport at approximately 3:30 p.m. Brockport can win the league title with a victory in that game. If the Golden Eagles lose, a winner-take-all title game will be held Monday at a time to be announced.

Andersen Gardner (Fairport) finished 3-for-4 with a double and three runs scored and senior
John Zilnicki (Riverhead) was 2-for-4 with a homer, walk and two RBI. Junior
Jason Simone (Utica/Thomas R. Proctor) was 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs and senior
Steve Nickel (Lake Ronkonkoma/Sachem North) went 2-for-5 with two RBI.
Sophomore
Matt June (Colonie) and senior Kyhle Dimino (Brighton) each finished 2-for-6 with an RBI. June's leadoff double in the bottom of the first inning extended his hitting streak to 19 straight games.
Junior
Mike Assmann (Auburn) earned his sixth victory of the season. He allowed seven hits, one walk and four runs and struck out one in five and two-third innings. Sophomore
Brendan Hourihan (Yorktown Heights/Lakeland) scattered six hits, one walk and one run with two strikeouts over the final three and one-third innings for his first save of the season.
Andrew Gooch went 4-for-5 with a homer, three RBI and two runs scored to lead Plattsburgh (30-10). Matt Burns and Crockett Pack were each 2-for-3.
Cortland led 10-1 after four innings.
Khyle Dimino singled in a run during a two-run first.
Adam Dimino hit a two-run single and
Justin Fredenburg (Saugerties) and June each singled in runs in a four-run third. Zilnicki's two-run homer capped a three-run fourth.
