Cortland Tops John Carroll, 1-0, in Double OT at RIT Rachel Miller Invite

Junior Bridgette DeSantis scored the game winner early in the second OT
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Junior Bridgette DeSantis (Rotterdam/Mohonasen) scored 53 seconds into the second overtime session as the Cortland women's soccer team defeated John Carroll, 1-0, in the consolation game of the RIT Rachel Miller Invitational. The Red Dragons earned their first win of the season and improved to 1-1-1. The Blue Streaks fell to 0-3 with the setback.

After a scoreless regulation and first 10-minute overtime, Cortland wasted little time in netting the game winner as senior Carly Williams (Emerson, NJ) set up DeSantis' first goal of the season. Senior goalie Pam Monnier (East Northport/Northport) earned her second consecutive shutout with two saves.

For John Carroll, senior goalie Molly Gradowski (Bethesda, MD/Georgetown Visitation) stopped eight shots.

Williams and sophomore midfielder Stacey Wood (New Hyde Park) were named to the All-Tournament Team.
