Hickey Earns Two Wins During Dual-Meet Loss at New Paltz

NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – Cortland freshman Chrisanna Hickey (Hopewell Junction/John Jay East Fishkill) won two events in the Red Dragons' 142-117 dual-meet loss at New Paltz. Hickey captured the 200-yard butterfly in 2:12.06 and the 100-yard butterfly in 1:00.91.

Senior Rachel Phillips (Eden), sophomore Abigail MacDonald (East Amherst/Williamsville North) and sophomore Jessica Evans (Hamburg) each posted a pair of second-place finishes. Phillips was the runner-up in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:11.67) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:34.59). MacDonald was second in the 100-yard backstroke (1:02.46) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:13.37), while Evans placed second in the 50-yard freestyle (25.51) and 100-yard freestyle (56.34).

Freshman Francesca Davide (Ossining) finished second in the 200-yard butterfly (2:20.57). The 200-yard medley relay team of sophomore Katherine Harris (Long Beach), freshman Pam Rebholz (Northport), Hickey and freshman Caitlin Lanigan (West Seneca/West Seneca West) was second in 1:57.75. In the 200-yard freestyle relay, New Paltz turned in the fastest time as an exhibition entry. Cortland finished second as Evans, junior Michelle Seeger (Oneonta), sophomore Kelsey Roe (Auburn) and freshman M.K. Dugue (Binghamton/Chenango Forks) were clocked in 1:43.42.

Cortland will compete in the RPI Women's Invitational on Saturday at noon.
