TROY, N.Y. – Freshmen Sarah Culmo (West Islip) and Chrisanna Hickey (Hopewell Junction/John Jay East Fishkill) each won two individual events and swam on a winning relay team as Cortland finished first at the five-team RPI Invitational.

Cortland finished with 658 points, followed by RPI with 456 and William Smith with 439. Oneonta (383) and Skidmore (218) also competed. The invitational was also scored as dual meets between each school, with Cortland finishing 4-0.

Culmo claimed top honors in the 50-yard freestyle (25.48) and 100-yard freestyle (56.50), while Hickey won the 200-yard butterfly (2:13.60) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:32.57). Freshman Caitlin Lanigan (West Seneca/West Seneca West) won the 200-yard freestyle (2:04.38) and sophomore Abigail MacDonald (East Amherst/Williamsville North) won the 200-yard backstroke (2:12.81).

Sophomore Katherine Harris (Long Beach), Hickey, sophomore Kelsey Roe (Auburn) and sophomore Jessica Evans (Hamburg) won the 400-yard medley relay in 4:14.00. Junior Michelle Seeger (Oneonta), Roe, Culmo and Lanigan won the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:48.70.

Evans finished second in the 100-yard freestyle (56.64) and third in the 200-yard individual medley (2:21.12). Freshman Lindsey Wigderson (Webster/Webster Thomas) placed second in one-meter diving (194.65 pts.) and fourth in three-meter diving (188.15 pts.), while graduate student Lauryn Kaznowski (Kingston) was second in three-meter diving (221.55 pts.) and fourth in one-meter diving (179.15 pts.).

MacDonald, in addition to her win in the 200-yard backstroke, finished third in both the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:28.80) and 200-yard butterfly (2:17.59). Sophomore Morgan Holden (Honeoye Falls/Honeoye Falls-Lima) was third in both diving events (185.10 pts. on one-meter board, 201.05 pts. on three-meter board), and freshman Brenna Munz (Poughquag/Arlington) finished third in the 200-yard freestyle (2:07.18) and fourth in the 200-yard backstroke (2:21.02).

Roe earned a fourth-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle (5:32.76), senior Rachel Phillips (Eden) was fourth in the 200-yard freestyle (2:07.78) and junior Laura Bohneberg (Lockport) placed fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke.

Lanigan notched a fifth-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle (5:42.32), freshman M.K. Dugue (Binghamton/Chenango Forks) was fifth in the 50-yard freestyle (26.91) and junior Sara Wynne (Wantagh) finished fifth in three-meter diving (183.30 pts.). Cortland also earned a fifth-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay, in addition to its winning entry. Harris, Munz, Phillips and freshman Francesca Davide (Ossining) were timed at 4:00.80.
