Judd Simon (Oneida) each won two individual events as Cortland completed its dual-meet season with a 184-116 victory over visiting Fredonia. Cortland finishes with a 13-3 record and will now prepare for the SUNYAC Championships, which will be held Feb. 9-12 in Buffalo.
Hanifin won both the 200-yard freestyle (1:47.77) and 500-yard freestyle (5:01.81), while Distler touched the wall first in the 50-yard freestyle (22.11) and 100-yard freestyle (48.27). Simon was the 200-yard backstroke winner (2:03.77) and the 400-yard individual medley winner (4:30.47).
Sophomore
Justin Nelson (Jamestown/Frewsburg) won the 100-yard backstroke (55.11) and finished second in the 500-yard freestyle (5:02.03). Senior
Dan Caputo (Staten Island/Curtis) captured the 200-yard butterfly (2:08.06), and the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Distler, sophomore
Dan Maximowicz (Binghamton/Chenango Forks), freshman Gregory MacDonald (Monroe Township, NJ/St. Joseph's) and freshman
Luke Strothenke (New Paltz) was victorious in 1:28.61.
Sophomore
Kyle Kaznowski (Kingston) and junior
Travis Burke (Massapequa) earned the top two spots in the diving events. Kaznowski won the one-meter board (267.05 points) and was second on the three-meter board (282.80 points), while Burke won the three-meter board (300.25 points) and was second in the one-meter competition (264.60 points).

Brandon McManus (Pittsford/Pittsford-Mendon) and Distler finished second in 1:41.40, only 0.15 seconds off the winning time. McManus finished second in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:24.55), junior
Danny Salvatore (Clarence) was second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.68), sophomore
Dan MacQuarrie (Vestal) placed second in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:20.61) and junior
Dylan Scheemaker (Fairport) was the runner-up in the 100-yard butterfly (55.70).
