Veronica Montrose finished fourth in the 400-meter dash and fifth in the 200-meter dash

Alexis Fairbanks (Apalachin/Owego Free Academy) and freshman
Sarah Bonnell (Norwich) each won events as Cortland competed at the Colgate University Class of '32 Invitational. The Red Dragons, who did not send a full squad to the meet, place fifth in the team scoring with 61 points. Division I schools Colgate, Binghamton and Syracuse earned three of the top four spots.
Fairbanks won the 800-meter run with an ECAC Div. III Championship qualifying time of 2:20.90. Bonnell won the 60-meter dash in 8.08 seconds, and also placed fourth in the 200-meter dash in 27.10 seconds.
Graduate student
Kristen Serikstad (Oyster Bay) tied for third in the high jump with an ECAC-qualifying height of 1.62 meters (5' 3.75”). Sophomore
Nikki Schafer (Troy/Columbia) finished sixth at 1.57 meters (5' 1.75”).
Junior
Liz Henry (Massapequa Park/Massapequa) led three Red Dragons in the top five of the 500 meters with her second-place time of 1:22.99. Sophomore
Caitlin Triantafillou (Getzville/Williamsville North) finished fourth (1:23.56) and junior
Val Basciano (New City/Albertus Magnus) was fifth (1:24.39).
Sophomore
Jordyn Naylon (Fairport) finished third in the mile run (5:20.07). Junior
Veronica Montrose (Clintondale/Highland) placed fourth in the 400 meters (1:03.19), with junior
Jenna Evarts (West Islip) in fifth place (1:04.65). Montrose also finished fifth in the 200-meter dash (27.45).
Freshman
Laura Quercia (Marcellus) turned in a fifth-place time of 2:26.21 in the 800 meters and sophomore
Katie Darling (Delhi/Delaware Academy) finished sixth in the 60-meter hurdles (9.65). Junior
Brittani Sahm (Phoenix/John C. Birdlebough) missed qualifying for the finals in the 60-meter dash by the slimmest of margins. Her seventh-place time of 8.408 seconds was edged by a thousandth of a second by the last qualifier's time of 8.407 seconds.
