ITHACA, N.Y. –Sophomore Sami Randazzo (Suffern) was the Red Dragons' top individual with a 27th-place time of 21:40.3 on a soggy and wet 5,000-meter course at the non-team scoring Cornell University John Reif Memorial Run.

Junior Alexis Fairbanks (Apalachin/Owego Free Academy) finished 28th out of 43 runners in 21:45.0 and freshman Marina Pettinicchi (Bellport) was 31st in 21:57.2. Freshman Emily DeCaro (Cedar Knolls, NJ/Whippany Park) crossed the finish line 34th in 22:16.1.

Rounding out Cortland's top seven were freshman Jessie Zdrowak (Orchard Park) in 36th (22:36.3), junior Nicole Hughes (Holland Patent) in 37th (22:56.2) and sophomore Alycia Barbieri (Smithtown/St. John the Baptist) in 38th (23:23.4). Angelica Peck, an unattached entry, won the race in 19:08.5.

Cortland will compete next Saturday, October 29, at the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championships at Bowdoin Park in Wappingers Falls, N.Y.
