CORTLAND, N.Y. – Cortland won the 200-yard freestyle relay, the meet's final event, by 0.22 seconds and the Red Dragons edged four-time defending SUNYAC champion Geneseo, 149-145, at Holsten Pool. Cortland evens its dual-meet record at 1-1 and Geneseo is now 2-1.
Geneseo entered the final relay with a 141-136 lead. Cortland's winning quartet of sophomore
Sarah Culmo (West Islip), junior
Jessica Evans (Hamburg), senior
Michelle Seeger (Oneonta) and freshman
Michaela Auer (Oswego) finished in 1:40.46 to earn 11 first-place points. Geneseo scored four points with its time of 1:40.68.
Also important to Cortland's victory was the third-place finish in the event (1:44.34) by freshman
Lauren Kaplowitz (Stamford, CT/West Hills), junior
Molly Miller (Eden), sophomore
