ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cortland men's swimming and diving team opened its dual-meet season with a 231-67 loss at Ithaca College.
Senior
Dylan Scheemaker (Fairport) finished second in the 200-yard butterfly (2:08.72) and third in the 100-yard butterfly (55.83). Junior
Justin Nelson (Jamestown/Frewsburg) was the 1,000-yard freestyle runner-up (10:35.93). Cortland also finished second in the 200-yard freestyle relay as junior
Dan Maximowicz (Binghamton/Chenango Forks), Scheemaker, junior
Matt Blaszak (West Seneca/West Seneca East) and sophomore
Luke Strothenke (New Paltz) logged a time of 1:29.33.

Danny Salvatore (Clarence) was third in both the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.26) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:20.87). Blaszak placed third in the 200-yard freestyle (1:49.74), Strothenke was third in the 100-yard butterfly (49.92) and freshman
Matt Mullen (North Babylon) touched the wall third in the 200-yard butterfly (2:12.94).
