Cortland Women Post Six ECAC Qualifying Performances at Deneault Invitational

Alex Budd cleared an ECAC-qualifying height of 5' 3" in the high jump
ITHACA, N.Y. – Cortland turned in six ECAC Div. III Championship qualifying performances at the Cornell University Women's Indoor Track and Field Deneault Invitational.

Graduate student Kristen Serikstad (Oyster Bay) was the Red Dragons highest placewinner with a third-place effort of 1.60 meters (5' 3”) in the high jump. Freshman Alex Budd (Riverhead) also cleared 1.60 meters to qualify for ECACs in the high jump, but finished fifth due to number of misses.

Sophomore Jordyn Naylon (Fairport) and sophomore Alexis Fairbanks (Apalachin/Owego Free Academy) each hit ECAC marks in the 800 meters. Naylon placed fourth out of 33 runners in 2:17.48 and Fairbanks finished eighth in 2:21.81.

Freshman Sarah Bonnell (Norwich) finished sixth in a field of 27 sprinters with her ECAC time of 7.95 seconds in the 60-meter dash. The Red Dragons' other ECAC qualifier was freshman Hannah Hoffman (Rome/Rome Free Academy), who had the 11th-best time out of 46 runners in the 3,000 meters (10:50.12).

Bonnell also finished sixth in the long jump with a distance of 5.06 meters (16' 7.25”), with freshman teammate Kelly Hugo (Highland) eighth at 4.94 meters (16' 2.5”).

Freshman Cait Reilly (Warwick/Monroe-Woodbury) finished ninth in the 400-meter dash (1:03.35) and freshman Laura Quercia (Marcellus) was 11th in the 800 meters (2:23.45). Junior Jenna Evarts (West Islip) placed 11th in the 60-meter dash (8.17), junior Liz Henry (Massapequa Park/Massapequa) finished 11th in the 500-meter dash (1:23.23) and junior Veronica Montrose (Clintondale/Highland) was 11th in the 300-meter dash (43.80).

The 4x400-meter relay of Evarts, Quercia, Fairbanks and Naylon finished third in 4:11.55. Sophomore Chelsea Lachman (Monroe/Monroe-Woodbury) tied for 11th place in the shot put (10.48 meters – 34' 4.75”) and junior Natasha Roseboom (Milford) tied for 12th place in the weight throw (11.72 meters – 38' 5.5”).
