Cortland Sends Four to Ithaca Invitational

Eric Banks won the 400-meter dash
ITHACA, N.Y. - Four members of the Cortland men's outdoor track and field competed at the Ithaca Invitational, held Tuesday at Cornell University.

Sophomore Eric Banks (Westbury) finished first in the 400-meter dash in 48.98 seconds. His time is an ECAC Div. III Championship qualifying time and missed NCAA provisional status by 0.48 seconds.

Freshman Michael Belluzzi (Hopewell Junction/John Jay) won the javelin throw with a distance of 46.84 meters (153' 8") and sophomore Justin Torres (Rome/Rome Free Academy) placed second in the shot put at 14.05 meters (46' 1.25"). Freshman Tyler Prendergast (Waterford/Shenendehowa) was fourth in the shot put (12.70 meters - 41' 8") and sixth in the hammer throw (43.88 meters - 143' 11").
