DELAWARE, OHIO - SUNY Cortland junior
Alyson Dalton (Sherrill/Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) finished 15th out of 22 runners in the 10,000-meter run during the first day of competition at the NCAA Div. III Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University.
Dalton completed the race in 37:05.26. Jennifer Gossels of Williams College won the event in 35:11.67. The top eight finishers earned All-America honors.
Cortland's other competitor in the women's meet, graduate student
Kristen Serikstad (Oyster Bay), will participate in the high jump Saturday at noon. Serikstad is a four-time All-American in the event - twice outdoors (tied for third in 2009, tied for fourth in 2008) and twice indoors (second in 2009, tied for fifth in 2008).
