Ryan Pericozzi finished 12th in the pole vault in his first appearance at the NCAA outdoor championships

Gino Bisceglia (Norwood/Norwood-Norfolk) advanced to the finals of the 400-meter dash with a school record-setting time during Day 2 of the NCAA Div. III Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Ohio Wesleyan University.
Bisceglia turned in the second-best preliminary time out of 19 entrants in 47.71 seconds and is one of eight to advance to the finals Saturday at 2:40 p.m. Bisceglia is guaranteed to be an All-American with a top-eight finish as long as he completes Saturday's race. His effort in the prelims breaks his own school record of 47.75 seconds.

Ryan Pericozzi (Lancaster) finished 12th out of 19 competitors in the pole vault with a height of 4.71 meters (15' 5.5"). Pericozz, making his first NCAA outdoor appearance after qualifying for the indoor nationals in 2009 and 2010, cleared 4.71 meters on his first attempt before missing on three attempts at 4.86 meters (15' 11.25"). Peter Geraghty of North Central College won the event with a height of 5.26 meters (17' 3").
