Kristen Serikstad earned five All-America honors in the high jump during her collegiate career - three outdoors and two indoors
DELAWARE, OHIO - SUNY Cortland graduate student
Kristen Serikstad (Oyster Bay) tied for eighth place in the high jump to earn All-America honors during the final day of the NCAA Div. III Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Ohio Wesleyan University.
Serikstad was one of six competitors between fourth and ninth place to clear 1.67 meters (5' 5.75"). She officially tied for eighth due to the number of misses at different heights for those competitors. Serikstad cleared 1.57 meters on her first attempt and successfully notched both 1.62 meters and 1.67 meters on her third and final attempt at each of those heights. Elizabeth Evans of Rose-Hulman won the title at 1.73 meters (5' 8").
Serikstad completes her career as a five-time All-American in the high jump. At outdoor nationals, she tied for third in 2009 and tied for fourth in 2008 in addition to this year's showing. Indoors, she finished second in 2009 and tied for fifth in 2008.
Cortland tied for 82nd place in the final team standings with the half point Serikstad scored at the meet. Wisconsin-Oshkosh won the team title.
