Red Dragons Finish Third at Clarkson Classic After 1-0 Setback to Hosts

POTSDAM, N.Y. – Ellen Heenan scored in the 11th minute and the goal held up as Clarkson defeated Cortland, 1-0, to claim first place at the Clarkson North Country Classic Saturday afternoon. The Red Dragons dropped to 1-1 on the season with the loss. The Golden Knights improved to 2-0.

Graduate student Pam Monnier (East Northport/Northport), who was named to the all-tournament team, made four saves in goal for Cortland. Seniors Jackie De Luise (Schenectady/Guilderland) and Kelly Wanser (East Northport/Northport) joined Monnier as all-tournament selections.

Brianna Thibeau stopped seven shots to earn the shutout for Clarkson. Heenan scored the game's lone goal off an assist from Alyssa Dausman on a corner kick.
