Four ECAC Qualifiers for Red Dragon Men at Cortland Winter Invitational

Connor Ten Eyck finished second in the pole vault with an ECAC-qualifying height of 14' 11.5"
CORTLAND, N.Y. – Senior Ryan Pericozzi's (Lancaster) winning pole vault was one of four Cortland ECAC Div. III Championship qualifying performances at the second annual Cortland Winter Invitational at Lusk Field House.

Pericozzi cleared 4.76 meters (15' 7.25”) to win the pole vault, followed by freshman Connor Ten Eyck (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) in second place with an ECAC height of 4.56 meters (14' 11.5”). Cortland's other ECAC efforts also came in field events. Sophomore Tyler Prendergast (Waterford/Shenendehowa) finished second in the weight throw at 15.53 meters (50' 11.5”) and junior Justin Torres (Rome/Rome Free Academy) finished second in the shot put at 15.12 meters (49' 7.25”).

Junior Brent Pavlick (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) won the 3,000 meters (9:13.36) and finished fifth in the mile run (4:51.17). Freshman James Guarnera (Elwood/Elwood-John H. Glenn) won the high jump with a height of 1.78 meters (5' 10”).

Junior Daniel Fugazot (Highland Mills/Monroe-Woodbury) finished third in the pole vault at 4.41 meters (14' 5.5”). He also posted the third-best time in the 60-meter dash preliminaries at 7.26 seconds but did not run in the finals.

Sophomore Ryan Perry (Buffalo/Williamsville North) finished second in the 3,000 meters (9:23.41), with freshman Dominic Simeone (Delmar/Bethlehem) nearby in third place (9:25.83). Junior Mike Ofosu (Accra, Ghana/Shaker (NY)) was the triple jump runner-up with a distance of 13.44 meters (44' 1.25”).

In addition, senior Dan McManus (Warwick/Warwick Valley) finished third in the 60-meter dash (7.30), senior Alex Williams (Baldwin) finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.84), sophomore Jared Thomson (Syracuse/Cicero-North Syracuse) was fourth in the shot put (13.81 meters – 45' 3.75”) and junior Erik LeRoy (Kings Park) finished fifth in the long jump (6.44 meters – 21' 1.5”).
