HAMILTON, N.Y. – Cortland finished fourth out of six schools at the Colgate Class of '32 Invitational. The Red Dragons scored 84 points despite the fact that some members of the team were competing at the Cortland Winter Invitational the same day. Bloomsburg won the meet with 183 points, followed by Oneonta (155), Colgate (90), Cortland, Hamilton (69) and Syracuse (32).
Junior
Eric Banks (Westbury) finished second in the 500-meter dash (1:06.54) and third in the 200-meter dash (22.93). His 500-meter time is an ECAC Div. III Championship qualifier. Three other Red Dragons reached ECAC standards in the 500 meters. Sophomore
Stephan Linton (Roosevelt) finished fourth (1:07.08), sophomore
Cody Amengual (West Babylon) finished sixth (1:07.24) and senior
Phill Wiltshire (Vestal) placed seventh (1:07.24).
Amengual also won the mile in 4:22.06, missing the ECAC standard by only six hundredths of a second. Wiltshire finished fifth in the 200-meter dash in 23.34 seconds.
Sophomore
Brandon Loomis (Rocky Point) qualified for the ECACs in the high jump with his third-place height of 1.94 meters (6' 4.25”).
Junior
Pat Fannon (West Islip) placed second behind Amengual in the mile with a time of 4:27.40, while freshman
Tim Odin (Northport) was sixth in 4:38.42. Junior
Tom Hopkins (Syracuse/West Genesee) finished third in the 3,000 meters (8:52.56). Sophomore
Tim Lee (West Babylon) was seventh in the race (9:02.04) and junior
Joe Blazey (Newark Valley) finished eighth (9:02.66).
Freshman
Neil Yodice (Northport) finished fifth in the 400-meter dash (52.60) and sixth in the 200-meter dash (23.52). Junior
Andrew Greenberg (Suffern) placed fourth in the 400-meter dash (52.19) and sophomore
Mike Kelly (Coram/Longwood) finished sixth in the 800 meters (2:02.04).
