Junior Mikayla Gaspary was Cortland's second finisher with a 31st-place time of 21:23.9 over 5,000 meters
ITHACA, N.Y. – Junior
Dayna Eikeseth (Staten Island/Tottenville) was Cortland's top finisher at the non-team scoring Cornell University John Reif Memorial Run. Eikeseth finished 29th in a field of 54 runners with a time of 21:15.3 over 5,000 meters.
The next six Red Dragon finishers placed consecutive spots from 31st to 36th place. Junior
Mikayla Gaspary (Ballston Spa) was 31st in 21:23.9, followed by freshman
Michelyn Little (Voorheesville/Clayton A. Bouton) in 32nd place in 21:27.6 and junior
Colleen Fischman (Orchard Park/Hamburg) in 33rd place in 21:31.8.

Trisha Clark (Pulaski) finished 34th (21:33.7), freshman
Kailyn Balzano (East Greenbush/Columbia) was 35th (21:35.1) and sophomore
Ameena Dye (DeWitt/Jamesville-DeWitt) placed 36th (21:36.4). Syracuse University's Kimberly Spano won the race in 18:22.4. Syracuse and Cornell runners earned 26 of the top 28 spots in the race.
Cortland will compete next Saturday, October 27, at the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championships, hosted by Fredonia State University at Lake Erie State Park in Portland, N.Y. The men's race will start at 11 a.m. and the women's race is scheduled for noon.
