GENESEO, N.Y. – Freshmen
Reeve Callen (Oswego) and
Andrew Cremer (Blue Point/Bayport-Blue Point) and senior
Kyle Kaznowski (Kingston) each won two events as Cortland defeated host Geneseo, 162-132, in dual-meet action. The victory is Cortland's first dual-meet win over Geneseo since the 1997-98 season, which is also the season that Cortland won the SUNYAC title before Geneseo started its current 14-year streak of conference crowns.
Cremer won the 1,000-yard freestyle in 10:07.75 and the 500-yard freestyle in 4:57.06. Callen captured the 200-yard freestyle (1:47.74) and 100-yard freestyle (48.62), while Kaznowski won 1-meter diving (258.60 pts.) and 3-meter diving (264.70 pts.).
Senior
Ben Strickland (Stanfordville/HomeSchool) won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.37) and was second in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:22.75). Freshman
Mathew Hasbrouck (New Paltz) took top honors in the 200-yard butterfly (2:02.37) and placed second in the 100-yard butterfly (54.14).

Mark Hanifin (Fort Plain), Cremer and junior
Luke Strothenke (New Paltz) finished the meet with a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:16.05).
Hanifin was the runner-up in both the 200-yard freestyle (1:49.18) and 500-yard freestyle (4:57.73) and senior
Justin Nelson (Jamestown/Frewsburg) finished second in both the 100-yard backstroke (56.51) and 200-yard backstroke (2:00.27). Schoenherr was second in the 50-yard freestyle (22.27), senior
Judd Simon (Oneida) touched the wall second in the 200-yard individual medley (2:06.33) and the 400-yard medley relay team of Strickland, senior
Dan MacQuarrie (Vestal), Hasbrouck and Callen finished second in 3:40.37.
Cortland (1-2) will host Buffalo State on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 1 p.m.
