CORTLAND, N.Y. - The Cortland women's swimming and diving team improved to 2-2 on the season with a 164.5-124.5 victory over visiting Buffalo State. The Red Dragons turned in the top performances in 13 individual events and both relays.

The victory is the 100th women's dual-meet win at Cortland for 11th-year head coach Brian Tobin. His record currently stands at 100-30-1. Tobin reached the 100-win mark on the men's side last season.

Sophomore Krista Caputo (Staten Island/Curtis) won the 200-yard freestyle (2:00.71) and 200-yard backstroke (2:25.16). Freshman Chelsey Simon (Oneida) won the 1,650-yard freestyle (18:57.55) and had the best time as an exhibition entry in the 400-yard individual medley (5:01.73). Freshman Miranda Fergus (Pleasant Valley/Millbrook) won 3-meter diving (262.90 pts.) and posted the best score on the 1-meter board (247.90 pts.) as an exhibition entry.

Senior Abigail MacDonald (East Amherst/Williamsville North) won the 200-yard butterfly (2:17.85) and finished second in the 1,650-yard freestyle (19:40.91). Junior Sarah Culmo (West Islip) captured the 50-yard freestyle (25.34) and finished second in the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.52), while senior Janet Rolf (Rome/Rome Free Academy) won the 200-yard breaststroke (2:41.73) and placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:13.49).

Senior Katherine Harris (Long Beach) won the 100-yard backstroke (1:07.12), junior Emilee Gottlieb (Maine/Maine-Endwell) won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:11.79) and senior Kelsey Roe (Auburn) was the 500-yard freestyle winner (5:42.44). Junior Chrisanna Hickey (Hopewell Junction/John Jay East Fishkill) had the fastest time in the 100-yard butterfly (1:01.33) as an exhibition entry.

Sophomore Lauren Klapowitz (Stamford, CT/West Hill) finished second in both the 100-yard backstroke (1:07.29) and 200-yard backstroke (2:28.18). Junior Lindsay Wigderson (Webster/Webster Thomas) finished second in 3-meter diving (223.35 pts.) and posted the second-best score as an exhibition entry in 1-meter diving (224.00 pts.).

Junior Francesca Davide (Ossining) finished second in the 200-yard butterfly (2:23.65), freshman Brianne Munch (East Lyme, CT) was second in the 100-yard freestyle (59.69) and sophomore Pam Rebholz (Northport) placed second in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:44.80). Freshman Katie Cornetta (Gardner, MA) had the second-best time as an exhibition entry in the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.42).

Cortland won the 200-yard medley relay behind Kaplowitz, sophomore Michaela Auer (Oswego), senior Jessica Evans (Hamburg) and Cornetta (1:54.84). The Red Dragons also had the best time as an exhibition entry in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:45.40) with Auer, Caputo, freshman Jessica Chiodo (New York/Notre Dame Academy) and Cornetta.
