Sarah Bonnell qualified for the ECAC Championships with her top-five finishes in the long jump and 60-meter dash
ITHACA,N.Y. – Cortland's women's indoor track and field team posted seven ECAC-qualifying performances, two of which are currently the best nationally in Div. III, at the season-opening Cornell Relays.
Junior
Sarah Bonnell (Norwich) finished third in the 60-meter dash in 7.85 seconds, the top time in Div. III through results reported by Sunday afternoon, and placed fifth in the long jump at a national second-best 5.45 meters (17' 10.75”). Senior
Amber Stephens (Stony Point/North Rockland) has the best distance nationally in the triple jump with her third-place effort of 11.71 meters (38' 5”).
Cortland's other two individual ECAC-qualifying times are both ranked sixth nationally. Junior
Emily Cotey (Norwood/Norwood-Norfolk) finished fourth in the 5,000 meters (18:29.62) and sophomore
Kenya Outram (Brooklyn/Victory Collegiate) was seventh in the 60-meter hurdles (9.43, 9.35 in prelims).
The Red Dragons also met ECAC standards with two relay times. The 4x800-meter relay of junior

Alexis Grable (Pine Bush), senior
Liz Henry (Massapequa Park/Massapequa) and senior
Abby Vander Veen (Duanesburg/Faith Bible Academy) finished sixth in 4:08.89, currently the third-best time nationally.
Cortland earned six other individual top-10 finishes and one other top-10 relay finish. Sophomore
Kiki Jones (Binghamton) finished ninth in the 60-meter dash (8.16) and Grable was ninth in the 300-meter dash (42.57). Junior Alexandra Budd (Riverhead) tied for ninth in the high jump (1.55 meters – 5'1”) and freshman
Kerri Culhane (Sayville) placed 10th in the 3,000 meters (10:50.42).
Sophomore
Valerie Vancol (Merrick/Sanford H. Calhoun) finished 10th in the shot put (10.60 meters – 34' 9.5”) and freshman
Alex Seymour (Etna/Dryden) was 10th in the pole vault (3.15 meters – 10' 4”). Also, Cortland's second-fastest 4x400-meter relay of senior
Caitlin Triantafillou (Getzville/Williamsville North), freshman
Saige Thomas (Elmira/Elmira Free Academy), sophomore
Gabrielle Conant (Tully) and freshman
Kristine Moran (Kerhonkson/Rondout Valley) finished eighth in 4:12.80.
