CORTLAND, N.Y. - Sophomore goalie Mark Friesen (Calgary, AB/Langley) made 29 saves as the Fredonia St. men's hockey team skated to a 3-0 win versus Cortland Saturday night in SUNYAC action at Alumni Arena. The Red Dragons fell to 5-17-1 overall and 3-10-1 in the conference, while the Blue Devils improved to 11-9-3 and 6-6-3.

Sophomore Alex Perkins (St. Albert, AB/St. Albert) led Fredonia St. with a goal and an assist, junior Mike Muhs (Rochester/New Jersey) and freshman Stephen Castriota (Bellport/NY Bobcats) each scored a goal with four players collecting one assist.
After a scoreless first period, Muhs scored what proved to be the game-winning goal at five minutes, 58 seconds of the second period. Skating shorthanded, junior Will McLaughlin (Mountain Top, PA/Trenton) broke into Cortland's defensive zone with Muhs on a 2-on-1. Molner denied McLaughlin's bid from the right side, but Muhs knocked in the rebound for his seventh goal of the season.
Castriota made it a 2-0 game at 9:39 of the second when he tucked a rebound in front under the crossbar. Perkins finished the scoring at 17:29 of the same period on the power play, deking Molner after receiving a pass in front.
