BOSTON, MASS. – Cortland's sprinters and middle distance runners recorded eight ECAC-qualifying performances at the Boston University Valentine's Invitational. The meet featured numerous Division I schools among the competing institutions.
Junior
Eric Banks (Westbury) finished 32nd out of 172 sprinters in the 400-meter dash in 49.50 seconds. Senior
Phill Wiltshire (Vestal) placed 39th in 49.65 seconds and freshman
Neil Yodice (Northport) finished 60th in 50.27 seconds.
Sophomore
Cody Amengual (West Babylon) turned in a pair of ECAC performances. He finished 50th out of 215 in the 800 meters (1:55.28) and 52nd out of 253 in the mile run (4:15.25). Also in the mile, junior
Pat Fannon (West Islip) finished 68th in 4:17.24.
Junior
Tom Hopkins (Syracuse/West Genesee) placed 53rd in the 5,000-meter run with an ECAC time of 15:18.59. The Red Dragons also finished 15th in the 4x400-meter relay as Wiltshire, sophomore
Stephan Linton (Roosevelt), Yodice and Banks were clocked at 3:18.18.
