Veronica Montrose ran legs on both the winning 4x400-meter and distance medley relay teams
ITHACA, N.Y. – Cortland won two relays and recorded a total of eight ECAC qualifying performances at the Ithaca College Bomber Invitational.
The 4x400-meter relay unit of junior
Liz Henry (Massapequa Park/Massapequa), sophomore
Trisha Clark (Pulaski), sophomore
Cait Reilly (Warwick/Monroe-Woodbury) and senior
Veronica Montrose (Clintondale/Highland) finished first of out 12 entries with an ECAC time of 4:05.97. The distance medley relay of freshman
Bori Tozser (Homer), Montrose, Reilly and junior
Jordyn Naylon (Fairport) won in an ECAC-qualifying time of 12:17.13.
Freshman
Taylor Hudson (Victor) and sophomore
Sarah Bonnell (Norwich) each turned in a pair of ECAC-qualifying performances. Hudson finished second in the high jump at 1.65 meters (5' 5”). She was one of three high jumpers with the best height, but placed second due to number of misses. Hudson also finished third in the long jump at 5.32 meters (17' 5.5”). Bonnell was second in the long jump at 5.47 meters (17' 11.5”) and fourth in a field of 55 competitors in the 200-meter dash (26.85).
Also hitting ECAC marks were junior
Christi Nassauer (Mount Sinai) with her second-place height of 3.20 meters (10' 6”) in the pole vault and freshman
Shay Walker (Harriman/Monroe-Woodbury) with a fourth-place effort of 8.07 seconds in the 60-meter dash.
Naylon finished third in the 500-meter dash (1:22.73) and Tozser was seventh (1:26.49). Senior
Jenna Evarts (West Islip) placed fifth (8.16) and freshman
Hannah Anthes (Liverpool) finished eighth (8.30, 8.27 prelims) in the 60-meter dash.
Clark led a group of five Cortland sprinters who finished in the top 10 in the 400-meter dash. Clark was second in 1:00.57, followed by junior
Alexis Grable (Pine Bush) in third (1:00.96), senior
Abby Vander Veen (Duanesburg/Faith Bible Academy) in fifth (1:02.10), Reilly in eighth (1:02.25) and junior
Caitlin Triantafillou (Getzville/Williamsville North) in 10th (1:03.46).
The Red Dragons also claimed six top-10 finishes in the high jump. Along with Hudson's runner-up showing, junior Gina Campagna (Cicero/Cicero-North Syracuse) finished seventh at 1.55 meters (5' 1”). Four Cortland high jumpers – junior

Megan O'Regan (West Islip), sophomore Lexi Budd (Riverhead) and junior
Brittany Krivicich (Middletown/Pine Bush) – all finished in a tie for eighth place by clearing 1.50 meters (4' 11”).
Senior
Brenna Filipello (Selkirk/Bethlehem) finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles (9.87) and sophomore
Emily Cotey (Norwood/Norwood-Norfolk) was seventh in the 3,000-meter run (11:00.89). Junior
Chelsea Lachman (Monroe/Monroe-Woodbury) turned in a seventh-place finish in the shot put (10.44 meters – 34' 3”) and junior
Alexis Fairbanks (Apalachin/Owego Free Academy) was eighth in the 800 meters (2:28.51).
Cortland earned the top two spots in the 4x400-meter relay. In addition to the Red Dragons' winning entry, the combination of Vander Veen, Triantafillou, Fairbanks and Grable finished second in 4:12.21.
Cortland did not have any competitors in Sunday's pentathlon.
