ITHACA, N.Y. – Cortland earned ECAC qualifying performances in four field events at the Cornell University Spring Invitational. The Red Dragons sent their top field athletes to the meet while sending their top runners to the Princeton Sam Howell Invitational.

Cortland's ECAC qualifiers were senior Will Razzano (Manorville/Riverhead) in the triple jump (second-place distance of 14.23 meters – 46' 8.25”), senior Ken Bucaro (Tully) in the pole vault (fourth-place height of 4.50 meters – 14' 9”), junior Justin Torres (Rome/Rome Free Academy) in the shot put (third-place distance of 14.69 meters – 48' 2.5”) and senior Tomas Velasquez (Catskill) in the long jump (fourth-place leap of 7.06 meters – 23' 2”).

Junior Shawn Wilson (Seneca Falls/Mynderse Academy) won the javelin throw with a distance of 50.39 meters (165' 4”) and finished seventh in the hammer throw (43.82 meters – 143' 9”). Junior Mike Ofosu (Accra, Ghana/Shaker (NY)) was fourth in the triple jump (13.46 meters – 44' 2”), while sophomore Tyler Prendergast (Waterford/Shenendehowa) finished seventh in the discus (40.08 meters – 131' 6”) and ninth in the shot put (13.22 meters – 43' 4.5”).

Torres, in addition to his third-place shot put, finished eighth in the discus (38.55 meters – 126' 6”) and 12th in the hammer throw (40.59 meters – 133' 2”). Sophomore Jared Thomson (Syracuse/Cicero-North Syracuse) earned a seventh-place finish in the shot put at 13.57 meters (44' 6.25”).

On the track, freshman Zach Zieniewicz (Seaford) finished sixth in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.67 seconds. Junior Andrew Greenberg (Suffern) was 10th in the 400-meter dash (52.04) and 19th of 42 in the 200-meter dash (23.78). Freshman Amos Webb (Mexico) placed 11th in the 400-meter dash (52.17) and 14th in the 200-meter dash (23.41) and junior Steven Damiani (West Islip) was 16th in the 100-meter dash (11.52) and 17th in the 200-meter dash (23.60).

Also, junior Brent Pavlick (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) finished 13th of 36 in the 1,500 meters (4:12.71) and senior Dan McManus (Warwick/Warwick Valley) was 17th in the 100-meter dash (11.56).
