CLAREMONT, CALIF. – Cortland freshman
Taylor Hudson (Victor) finished in 17th place in the heptathlon at the NCAA Div. III Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Hudson recorded a score of 4,364 points. Alexis Arnold of George Fox won the title with 4,920 points.
Hudson was in eighth place with 2,824 points after the first day's events – the 100-meter hurdles (15.74), high jump (1.60 meters – 5' 3”), shot put (10.08 meters – 33' 1”) and 200-meter dash (25.89). On Friday, she finished 12th in the long jump (5.19 meters – 17' 0.5”) for 612 points, 20th in the javelin throw (26.15 meters – 85' 9”) for 404 points and 19th in the 800-meter run (2:44.31) for 524 points.
Cortland will finish the meet with five team points due to senior
Alyson Dalton's (Sherrill/Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) fourth-place finish in the 10,000-meter run Thursday. The Red Dragons' final team standing will not be determined until after the last day of competition concludes Saturday.
(UPDATE - May 26: Cortland tied for 48th place out of 80 schools that scored points in the final team standings.)
