Alexis Fairbanks rounded out Cortland's top five with a 22nd-place time of 15:41.60 over 4,000 meters

Emily Cotey (Norwood/Norwood-Norfolk) finished first and senior
Jordyn Naylon (Fairport) placed second in a field of 132 runners at the eight-team Jack Daniels Shoot-Out, hosted by Cortland. The Red Dragons finished second in the team standings with 39 points, nine behind first-place Ithaca. Scranton was third with 109.
Cotey covered the 4,000-meter course that spanned the back part of Cortland's campus and the neighboring Cortland Water Works in 14:39.70. Naylon crossed the finish line in 14:46.50.
Freshman
Kerri Culhane (Sayville) finished 11th in 15:27.70 and freshman
Danika Ortiz (Burnt Hills/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) placed 21st in 15:39.50. Senior
Alexis Fairbanks (Apalachin/Owego Free Academy) turned in a 22nd-place time of 15:41.60, with freshman
Kayla Blomback (Orchard Park) right behind her in 23rd place (15:42.80). Junior
Colleen Fischman (Orchard Park/Hamburg) rounded out the Red Dragon top seven with a 29th-place time of 15:52.90.
Cortland will compete at the Lehigh University Paul Short Run on Friday, Sept. 28.
