M.K. Dugue swam the third leg on Cortland's winning 200-yard freestyle relay
ONEONTA, N.Y. – Sophomore
Krista Caputo (Staten Island/Curtis) and freshman
Miranda Fergus (Pleasant Valley/Millbrook) were each individual double-winners in Cortland's 163-135 dual-meet loss at Hartwick College. The Red Dragons are now 3-3.
Caputo touched the wall first in both the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:02.10) and 500-yard freestyle (5:22.83), while Fergus won 1-meter diving (245.65 points) and 3-meter diving (252.75 points).
In addition, junior
Chrisanna Hickey (Hopewell Junction/John Jay East Fishkill) won the 200-yard butterfly (2:18.96) and finished second in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:36.40), and junior
Sarah Culmo (West Islip) was victorious in the 50-yard freestyle (25.35) and placed second in the 100-yard freestyle (55.81).
The combination of senior
Jessica Evans (Hamburg), freshman
Katie Cornetta (Gardner, MA), junior
M.K. Dugue (Binghamton/Chenango Forks) and Culmo won the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:43.46. Senior
Abigail MacDonald (East Amherst/Williamsville North), Hickey, Evans and Culmo finished second in the 200-yard medley relay (1:56.99).
MacDonald also finished second in the 100-yard backstroke (1:05.05), Evans was second in the 100-yard butterfly (1:03.82) and junior
Emilee Gottlieb (Maine/Maine-Endwell) placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:12.27).
Cortland will travel to SUNY New Paltz for a dual meet on Friday, Jan. 18, at 4 p.m.
