Senior goalie Cam Gibbar (Highlands Ranch, CO/NY Bobcats) made 25 saves.
After a scoreless first period, Moyer put the Red Dragons on the scoreboard at four minutes, 59 seconds of the second with a power-play goal shortly after Cortland killed off three minutes of a five-minute major penalty. Lysyj dug a loose puck out of the right corner and fed a pass to Moyer, who beat Gibbar with a wrist shot. Lysyj set up Moyer for his second of the game at 8:02 of the period, sending a pass to the slot where Moyer converted a one-timer. White made it a 2-1 game at 16:49, scoring on a slap shot from the left point through traffic. Zappia, however, gave Cortland back its two-goal lead when he finished off a partial breakaway 46 seconds before the end of the period.
Midway through the third period, the Continentals went on a five-minute power play and cut the lead to 3-2 at 11:59 as Vazquez found the top corner with a wrist shot from the right point. The Red Dragons killed off the remainder of the penalty to preserve their lead. Hamilton pulled Gibbar with 40 seconds remaining but could not score the equalizer.
