Luke Strothenke swam the third leg on the winning 400-yard freestyle relay that clinched the Red Dragons' team victory

Reeve Callen (Oswego) won the meet's final event, the 400-yard freestyle relay, by 15 hundredths of a second to lift the Red Dragons past Rochester, 149-146, in dual-meet action at Holsten Pool.
Cortland, now 11-5 on the season, trailed the Yellowjackets 140-138 before winning the final relay in 3:13.47 compared to Rochester's time of 3:13.62. The Red Dragons were behind entering the last 100-yard leg of the race, but Callen recorded a 47.96 split to his opponent's 48.23. Callen also won the 200-yard freestyle earlier in the meet in 1:45.23 and was second in the 100-yard freestyle (48.71).
Schoenherr, freshman
Andrew Cremer (Blue Point/Bayport-Blue Point) and freshman
Lee Wade (Holtsville/Sachem East) were each individual double-winners. Schoenherr won the 50-yard freestyle (22.19) and 100-yard freestyle (48.29), Cremer captured the 1,000-yard freestyle (9:56.62) and 500-yard freestyle (4:50.27), and Wade won both diving events with scores of 230.70 points on the 1-meter board and 222.75 points on the 3-meter board.
Senior
Ben Strickland (Stanfordville/HomeSchool) won the 200-yard breaststroke (2:18.71) and led off the second-place 200-yard medley relay team (1:41.05) that also featured freshman
Jack Jakubek (Monroe/Monroe-Woodbury), Hasbrouck and senior
Dan Maximowicz (Chenango Forks).
Hasbrouck finished second in both the 200-yard butterfly (2:01.49) and 100-yard butterfly (54.72) and senior
Justin Nelson (Jamestown/Frewsburg) touched the wall second in both the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:16.19) and 200-yard backstroke (1:58.64). Maximowicz turned in a second-place time of 22.29 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle.
Cortland will compete at the Ithaca Diving Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 2, and will host Fredonia State in a dual meet on Saturday, Feb. 9.
