Cortland Opens Season With Dual-Meet Loss at NYU

Reeve Callen finished second in 50-yard, 200-yard and 500-yard freestyle races
NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Cortland men's swimming and diving team opened the 2013-14 season with a 193-96 dual-meet loss at New York University.

Reeve Callen (Oswego) earned three individual second-place finishes for the Red Dragons. He was runner-up in the 200-yard freestyle (1:49.30), 50-yard freestyle (22.39) and 500-yard freestyle (4:59.35). Adam Opsahl (East Lyme, CT) recorded a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (50.32).

In addition, Lee Wade (Holtsville/Sachem East) finished third in both 1-meter diving (217.13 points) and 3-meter diving (221.70 points) and Mark Hanifin (Fort Plain) was third in the 100-yard freestyle (50.62).

Cortland's next competition is a dual meet at Ithaca College on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 1 p.m.
