Chrisanna Hickey finished second in the 200-yard butterfly and third in the 100-yard butterfly
NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Cortland women's swimming and diving team lost at NYU in dual-meet action, 189-101, in the 2013-14 season opener for each team.
Krista Caputo (Staten Island/Curtis) finished second in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:04.93) and
Chrisanna Hickey (Hopewell Junction/John Jay-East Fishkill) was second in the 200-yard butterfly (2:21.10). Cortland also finished second in both relays – the 200-yard medley relay team of
Angelica Ford (Elk Grove Village, IL),
Michaela Auer (Oswego), Hickey and
Sarah Culmo (West Islip) were clocked at 1:53.85 and the 400-yard freestyle relay of Caputo,
Katie Cornetta (Gardner, MA),
Chelsey Simon (Oneida) and Culmo finished in 3:51.72.
Culmo placed third in both the 50-yard freestyle (25.40) and 100-yard freestyle (56.43) and
Miranda Fergus (Millbrook) was third in both 1-meter diving (243.21 points) and 3-meter diving (217.28 points). Auer finished third in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:10.61), Ford was third in the 200-yard backstroke (2:20.51) and Hickey placed third in the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.11).
Cortland will travel to Ithaca for a dual meet on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 1 p.m.
