ITHACA, N.Y. – Senior
Sam Kirschenbaum (Oceanside) scored his first goal of the season just past the midway point of the second half as the Cortland men's soccer team concluded its regular season with a 1-0 non-conference victory at Ithaca on Sunday afternoon. The Red Dragons improved to 10-6-1 with the win, while the Bombers fell to 4-10.

Thomas Nocito (Burnt Hills/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) recorded the assist on Kirschenbaum's goal. Freshman goalkeeper
Joe Brandofino (East Northport/Commack) made four saves in recording a shutout in his first collegiate start for Cortland. Goalie Kenny Chapman registered one save for Ithaca.
After a scoreless first half, Nocito set up Kirschenbaum's goal in the 72nd minute, and the score stood up to give the Red Dragons double-digit wins on the season. Cortland returns to action on Wednesday, Nov. 6, when it hosts the winner of Potsdam at The College at Brockport in a SUNYAC Tournament semifinal game.
