Colleen Fischman was Cortland's third finisher with a time of 23:46 over 6,000 meters
BETHLEHEM, PA. – Cortland's top eight runners all finished in the top half of the field as the Red Dragons finished 15th out of 45 schools in the Brown Division of the Lehigh University Women's Cross Country Paul Short Run.
Cortland finished with 485 points, three ahead of Allegheny College. Holy Cross won the race with 176 points, followed by Shippensburg with 184. The field included 14 Division I schools, including nine that placed behind the Red Dragons.
Senior
Emily Cotey (Norwood/Norwood-Norfolk) finished 43rd out of 365 runners with a time of 22 minutes, 51 seconds over 6,000 meters. Mansfield's Jessica Scordino won the race in 21:13. Sophomore
Kerri Culhane (Sayville) finished 81st in 23:27 and senior
Colleen Fischman (Buffalo/Hamburg) was 111th in 23:46.
Sophomore
Kayla Blomback (Orchard Park) crossed the finish line 121st in 23:54 and junior
Kelly Bromm (Washingtonville) was 139th in 24:06. Completing Cortland's top seven were junior
Ameena Dye (DeWitt/Jamesville-DeWitt) in 149th (24:13) and sophomore
Danika Ortiz (Burnt Hills/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) in 153rd (24:14). Sophomore
Michelyn Little (Voorheesville/Clayton A. Bouton) was the Red Dragons' eighth finisher with a 167th-place time of 24:22.
Cortland also had competitors in the Open Division race. Junior
Jessica Hughes (Pawling) finished 249th in 25:02.
Cortland will run at the St. Lawrence Hoffman Invitational next Saturday.
