MT. MORRIS, N.Y. – Cortland sophomore
Kerri Culhane (Sayville) earned all-region honors with a 29th-place finish at the NCAA Div. III Women's Cross Country Atlantic Regional Championships. The meet was hosted by SUNY Geneseo at Letchworth State Park.
Cortland finished eighth out of 38 teams with a final score of 270 points. NYU won the title with 97 points, followed by St. Lawrence with 103 points. Those two schools earned automatic berths to the NCAA Div. III Championships. TCNJ was third (148), followed by Geneseo (149), Oneonta (177), Ithaca (193), Hamilton (217), Cortland (270) and Vassar (284). A total of 16 schools from eight regional championships that finish third or lower will be awarded at-large national berths.
Culhane finished the 6,000-meter course in 22 minutes, 24.0 seconds for her 29th-place showing in a field of 269 runners. The top 35 finishers earn all-region honors. RPI's Grace Tilton won the race in 21:07.0. The top seven finishers not on team qualifiers will compete at nationals, but there are more than seven definite choices who finished ahead of Culhane.

Emily Cotey (Norwood/Norwood-Norfolk) finished 54th in 22:57.4, sophomore
Kayla Blomback (Orchard Park) was 56th in 22:58.3 and junior
Ameena Dye (DeWitt/Jamesville-DeWitt) placed 59th in 23:00.7.
Rounding out Cortland's contingent were sophomore
Danika Ortiz (Burnt Hills/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) in 76th place (23:15.5), senior
Colleen Fischman (Buffalo/Hamburg) in 112th place (23:50.6) and junior
Kelly Bromm (Washingtonville) finished 125th (24:01.8).
