ITHACA, N.Y. – Seven Red Dragons posted ECAC-qualifying performances at the season opening women's indoor track and field Cornell Relays.
Senior
Kelly Hugo (Highland) tied for second place out of 22 competitors in the pole vault with an ECAC height of 3.45 meters (11' 3.75"). Senior
Lisa Bodratti (Valatie/Ichabod Crane) finished fifth in a field of 31 competitors in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.16 seconds and sophomore
Angelique Jean-Charles (Elmont/Valley Stream) was seventh in 9.32 seconds, both ECAC qualifying times.
Three Cortland sprinters recorded ECAC times in the 60-meter dash. Freshman
Amanda Moore (Massapequa) advanced to the finals in the 53-competitor field and finished seventh in 7.94 seconds. Senior
Sarah Bonnell (Norwich) placed 11th in 8.01 seconds and freshman
Dana Kupiec (Salem) was 16th in 8.10 seconds. Junior
Taylor Hudson (Victor) was an ECAC qualifier in the high jump with her height of 1.65 meters (5' 5") that tied for seventh place.
Junior
Valerie Vancol (Merrick/Sanford H. Calhoun) narrowly missed qualifying for ECACs in the shot put. She finished fourth of 23 with a distance of 11.53 meters (37' 10"), about two inches shy of the ECAC standard.
Other top-10 individuals for the Red Dragons included senior
Dayna Eikeseth (Staten Island/Tottenville) and sophomore
Michelyn Little (Voorheesville/Clayton A. Bouton) in the 5,000-meter run. Eikeseth finished seventh in 19:46.39 and Little placed ninth in 19:55.84.
Cortland also finished second in the distance medley relay as sophomore
Kayla Blomback (Orchard Park), junior
Gabrielle Conant (Tully), sophomore
Kailyn Balzano (East Greenbush/Columbia) and sophomore
Jackie Boyce (Greenwich) were clocked at 13:08.24.
