PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Alex Brenton scored two goals to lead the nationally ninth-ranked Plattsburgh men's hockey team to a 4-1 win over Cortland Friday night in SUNYAC action. With the loss, the Red Dragons fell to 7-14-3 overall and 3-10-2 in the conference and ended any chance to earn a playoff berth. The Cardinals improved to 17-6-1 and 12-2-1.

Adam Bevilacqua (Toronto, ON/St. Norbert) scored Cortland's goal on an unassisted effort. Junior goalie
Lyle Rocker (Buffalo/Wisconsin-River Falls) turned aside 41 shots.
Kevin Emmerling added a goal and an assist for Plattsburgh, Connor Gorman netted a goal and six players each collected one assist. Goaltender Mathieu Cadieux made 21 saves.
The Cardinals grabbed a 1-0 lead at 10:37 of the first period on Brenton's first goal of the night. Bevilacqua tied the game at 1:56 of the second before Brenton gave Plattsburgh the lead for good at 10:56 of the period on the power play. Gorman made it 3-1 at 7:23 of the third with a power-play goal and Emmerling completed the scoring at 11:13.
