NEW YORK CITY – Cortland athletes registered 11 ECAC Div. III Championship qualifying performances at the NYU Fastrack Team Challenge at the New Balance Armory in Manhattan. Despite the event name, there was no team scoring at the event.
Junior
Sarah Bonnell (Norwich) finished second in the 60-meter dash in 7.89 seconds (7.88 in prelims) and finished third in the long jump at 5.64 meters (18' 6”). Senior
Nikki Schafer (Troy/Columbia) placed fourth in the high jump at 1.60 meters (5' 3”) and sixth in the 60-meter hurdles (9.37).
Junior Alexandra Budd (Riverhead) matched Schafer's high jump of 1.60 meters (5' 3”) and finished fifth due to number of misses. Sophomore
Taylor Hudson (Victor) finished fifth in the long jump at 5.50 meters (18' 0.5”).
Senior
Jordyn Naylon (Fairport) finished fifth in the mile (5:08.38) and freshman
Kerri Culhane (Sayville) was sixth in the 3,000-meter run (10:32.65). Junior
Colleen Fischman (Orchard Park/Hamburg) placed ninth in the 3,000 meters (10:35.16) and freshman
Kailyn Balzano (East Greenbush/Columbia) was 15th in the 800 meters (2:20.68).
