ITHACA, N.Y. - Cortland recorded two relay and eight individual ECAC qualifying performances at the Cornell University Men's Indoor Track and Field Kane Invitational.

The 4x400-meter relay of senior Eric Banks (Westbury), sophomore Neil Yodice (East Northport/Northport), freshman Jerel Williams (East Islip) and junior Stephan Linton (Roosevelt) finished second in 3:21.46. Their time is currently ranked 15th nationally in Div. III. The 4x800-meter relay unit of senior Pat Fannon (West Islip), freshman Julio Melendez (Valley Cottage/Nyack), junior Mike Kelly (Coram/Longwood) and junior Cody Amengual (West Babylon) placed third in 7:54.10.

Amengual and Fannon each posted ECAC times in the mile run. Amengual finished sixth in 4:18.35 and Fannon was seventh in 4:20.48. Senior Tom Hopkins (Syracuse/West Genesee) finished third in the 5,000 meters with an ECAC time of 14:55.40.

Five of Cortland's ECAC qualifiers came in field events. Sophomore Connor Ten Eyck (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) finished second in the pole vault at 4.80 meters (15' 9"). Junior P.J. Flynn (Valhalla) and senior Mike Ofosu (Accra, Ghana/Shaker (NY)) placed third and sixth, respectively, in the triple jump. Flynn covered 14.34 meters (47' 0.75") and Ofosu 13.51 meters (44' 4").

The other two ECAC qualifiers were freshman Andre Green (Philadelphia/Indian River) in the long jump (5th place, 6.72 meters - 22' 0.75") and junior Tyler Prendergast (Waterford/Shenendehowa) in the weight throw (6th place, 15.41 meters - 50' 6.75").

Other Red Dragon highlights included senior Dan Fugazot (Highland Mills/Monroe-Woodbury) and senior Rob Brower (Massapequa) finishing fifth and sixth, respectively, in the pole vault. Fugazot cleared 4.50 meters (14' 9") and Brower cleared 4.35 meters (14' 3.25"). Green finished eighth in the triple jump at 13.06 meters (42' 10.25") and senior Justin Torres (Rome/Rome Free Academy) placed eighth in the shot put at 14.00 meters (45' 11.25").

The 4x400-meter relay team of sophomore Rob Schenke (Kings Park), sophomore Eric Wong (Massapequa Park/Massapequa), freshman Sean Swartwood (Waverly) and senior Andrew Greenberg (Suffern) finished sixth in 3:30.43. Greenberg also finished 13th in the 400-meter dash (52.36), followed by Wong in 14th place (52.38).

Junior Melique Garcia (Watervliet) finished 13th in both the 60-meter dash (7.21) and 200-meter dash (23.35). Sophomore Nick Avossa (Kingston) placed 13th in the 60-meter hurdles (8.78) and junior Tim Lee (West Babylon) was 14th in the 5,000 meters (15:25.72).

Senior Shawn Wilson (Seneca Falls/Mynderse Academy) placed 10th in the weight throw at 13.97 meters (45' 10") and senior Erik LeRoy (Kings Park) was 13th in the long jump at 6.23 meters (20' 5.25"). Prendergast was 12th in the shot put at 12.71 meters (41' 8.5"), just ahead of sophomore Dan Margo's (Oneida) 13th-place distance of 12.60 meters (41' 4.25").
