NEW YORK, N.Y. – Cortland finished first out of 51 scoring schools at the two-day Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Div. III Men's Indoor Track and Field Championships at the New Balance Track and Field Center at The Armory in Manhattan.
The Red Dragons claimed their first ECAC indoor title since 2004 with 59 points. RPI was second with 48 points, followed by Oneonta (46), RIT (37) and NYU (37) in the top five.
Cortland earned 30 points on the strength of one individual and two relay titles. Freshman
Andre Green (Philadelphia/Indian River) won the long jump with a leap of 7.18 meters (23' 6.75”). He missed a school record by less than an inch.

Neil Yodice (East Northport/Northport), freshman
Jerel Williams (East Islip) and junior
Stephan Linton (Roosevelt) won in 3:17.29, while the distance medley relay of junior
Cody Amengual (West Babylon), Yodice, freshman
Julio Melendez (Valley Cottack/Nyack) and senior
Pat Fannon (West Islip) crossed the finish line first in 10:04.82.
Linton placed second in the 400-meter dash (48.97), with Banks in fourth place (49.05). Junior
P.J. Flynn (Valhalla) finished third in the triple jump at 14.47 meters (47' 5.75”) and Amengual finished fourth in the 800 meters (1:53.85).
Other Red Dragon scorers included Melendez in the 1,000 meters (6th place, 2:31.84) and junior
Tyler Prendergast (Waterford/Shenendehowa) in the weight throw (7th place, 15.77 meters – 51' 9”). Just missing the top eight scoring spots were Fannon in the mile (9th place, 4:29.12), senior
Shawn Wilson (Seneca Falls/Mynderse Academy) in the weight throw (9th place, 15.31 meters – 50' 2.75”) and senior
Rob Brower (Massapequa) in the pole vault (10th place, 4.67 meters – 15' 3.75”).
The NCAA Div. III Men's Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held March 8-9 at North Central College in Naperville, Ill. The top 13 performers in each individual event and the top 10 relays, after all results have been officially reported, qualify to compete at nationals. As of Saturday evening, Green ranked 12th nationally in the long jump with his ECAC performance and sophomore
Connor Ten Eyck (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) ranked 13th in the pole vault (4.80 meters – 15' 9”).
