SHENANDOAH, TEXAS – Senior Dan Maximowicz (Chenango Forks) finished in 41st place in the 50-yard freestyle at Day 1 of the NCAA Div. III Men's Swimming and Diving Championships.

The four-day meet is being held in conjunction with the men's championships at the Conroe Natatorium and is being hosted by the City of Shenandoah, Texas, and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Maximowicz finished the preliminaries in 21.37 seconds and did not advance into Wednesday's finals and consolation finals.

Cortland is scheduled to compete in one more event at the championships when Maximowicz, senior Ben Strickland (Stanfordville/HomeSchool), freshman Reeve Callen (Oswego) and senior Judd Simon (Oneida) swim in the 200-yard freestyle relay on Thursday. The Red Dragons enter that event with the 12th-fastest seed time nationally at 1:22.18.
