Nikki Schafer won the 100-meter hurdles and ran a leg on the winning 4x400-meter relay team

Nikki Schafer (Troy/Columbia) and
Caitlin Triantafillou (Getzville/Williamsville North) won individual events as the Cortland women's outdoor track and field team opened its season at the Ithaca College Invitational.
Schafer won the 100-meter hurdles with an ECAC-qualifying time of 15.63 seconds. Triantafillou won the 400-meter hurdles in 1:07.37. In addition, the combination of junior

Kiersten Duroe (Horseheads), Schafer and senior
Jordyn Naylon (Fairport) won the 4x400-meter relay in 4:30.71.
In addition to Schafer in the 100-meter hurdles, three other Red Dragons recorded ECAC-qualifying efforts. Senior
Christi Nassauer (Mount Sinai) placed second in the pole vault at 3.40 meters (11' 1.75”), sophomore
Valerie Vancol (Merrick/Sanford H. Calhoun) was second in the shot put at 11.78 meters (38' 7.75”) and sophomore
Kenya Outram (Brooklyn/Victory Collegiate) finished third in the 100-meter hurdles (16.02).
Junior Alexandra Budd (Riverhead) finished second in the high jump at 1.57 meters (5' 1.75”), with freshman
Kayla Koelbel (Bradford, PA/Kings Park (NY)) tied for third at 1.52 meters (4' 11.75”) and senior
Brittany Krivicich (Middletown/Pine Bush) tied for fifth at 1.47 meters (4' 9.75”).
Vancol finished third in the discus at 32.72 meters (107' 4”) and Naylon was third in the 1,500 meters (4:51.73). Freshman
Carla Auguste (Brooklyn/Midwood) placed third in the triple jump at 10.06 meters (33' 0.25”) and senior
Alana Hotchkiss (Cicero/Cicero-North Syracuse) was fifth at 9.89 meters (32' 5.5”).
Among Cortland's other top-six finishes were Koelbel in fifth (16.15) and sophomore
Taylor Hudson (Victor) in sixth (16.41, 16.34 prelims) in the 100-meter hurdles; senior
Liz Henry (Massapequa Park/Massapequa) in fourth place in the 400-meter hurdles (1:12.47); junior
Dayna Eikeseth (Staten Island/Tottenville) and sophomore
Ameena Dye (DeWitt/Jamesville-DeWitt) in fourth (18:51.17) and fifth (18:54.08), respectively, in the 5,000 meters; Bonnell in fifth place in the 400-meter dash (1:03.39); and junior
Lisa Bodratti (Valatie/Ichabod Crane) in sixth in the 200-meter dash (27.66).
