Cortland Grabs Top Eight Spots to Capture Oswego Invitational

OSWEGO, N.Y. – Cortland runners claimed the top eight spots as the Red Dragons easily won the team title at the 13-team Oswego Don Masterson Invitational. Cortland finished with 15 points, followed by SUNY ESF with 74 points, Rochester with 79 points, Oswego with 100 points and Ithaca with 130 points.

Four Cortland runners actually posted the same winning time of 25:49.0 over 8,000 meters with the top spot awarded to senior Pat Fannon (West Islip). Junior Nick Marcantonio (Glens Falls) placed second, senior Cody Amengual (West Babylon) was third and junior Jarred Iacovelli (Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Regional) finished fourth.

Senior Tim Lee (West Babylon) crossed the finish line in fifth place (25:54.0) as Cortland's final scorer. Lee was followed by senior Casey Austin (Pine Plains/Stissing Mountain) in sixth (25:56.0), junior Arturo Salas (Buffalo/Hutch Tech) in seventh (26:18.8) and senior Ryan Perry (Buffalo/Williamsville North) in eighth (26:21.2).
