Adam Opsahl finished fourth in both the 200-yard individual medley and the 200-yard breaststroke
TROY, N.Y. – Cortland finished third out of seven teams at the RPI Kumpf Men's Swimming and Diving Invitational. Ithaca won the meet with 625.5 points, followed by RPI with 557.5 and Cortland with 310. Rounding out the field were Clarkson (300), Vassar (197), Skidmore (173) and Cobleskill (50).
The competition was also scored as dual meets between each of the schools. Cortland finished 4-2 with win over Clarkson, Vassar, Skidmore and Cobleskill.
Sophomore
Reeve Callen (Oswego) placed second out of 21 swimmers in the 100-yard freestyle ijn 48.39 seconds and sophomore
Mathew Hasbrouck (New Paltz) finished second of 13 in the 200-yard butterfly in 1:59.92.
Freshman
Adam Opsahl (East Lyme, CT) turned in fourth-place performances in the 200-yard individual medley (2:04.79) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:20.66) and senior
Mark Hanifin (Fort Plain) was fourth in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:28.36).
Freshman
Dylan Burns (Cornwall) finished sixth in the 50-yard freestyle (22.84), while junior
Alex Spatzer (Buffalo/Kenmore West) was eighth in both the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.62) and 200-yard butterfly (2:07.07).
In the 400-yard freestyle relay, Burns, Hanifin, Hasbrouck and Callen finished third out of 16 entries in 3:17.23. Senior

Chris Leary (Suffern) finished eighth in that race in 3:31.42. Burns, Opsahl, Hasbrouck and Callen placed fourth out of 15 teams in the 400-yard medley relay (3:42.71).
Cortland will host Hartwick in a dual meet, both men's and women's, on Sunday at 1 p.m.
