Four Red Dragons Multiple Winners in 170-124 Victory vs. Hartwick

Chrisanna Hickey won the 200-yard IM and both butterfly events
CORTLAND, N.Y. – Senior Chrisanna Hickey (Hopewell Junction/John Jay East Fishkill) won three individual events and three other Red Dragons registered two individual victories as Cortland defeated Hartwick, 170-124, in a women's swimming and diving dual meet at Holsten Pool.

Hickey was victorious in the 200-yard butterfly (2:13.87), 100-yard butterfly (1:01.47) and 200-yard individual medley (2:17.67). Freshman Angelica Ford (Elk Grove Village, IL) won the 100-yard backstroke (1:03.74) and 200-yard backstroke (2:16.57) and senior Sarah Culmo (West Islip) turned in victories in the 50-yard freestyle (25.67) and 100-yard freestyle (56.38). Sophomore Miranda Fergus (Millbrook) won both diving events; she scored 243.00 points on the 1-meter board and 264.30 points on the 3-meter board.

Junior Michaela Auer (Oswego) won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.94) and was runner-up in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:36.95). Second-place showings were posted by sophomore Chelsey Simon (Oneida) in the 200-yard butterfly (2:17.15), junior Krista Caputo (Staten Island/Curtis) in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:18.45), senior M.K. Dugue (Binghamton/Chenango Forks) in the 50-yard freestyle (25.89) and sophomore Katie Cornetta (Gardner, MA) in the 100-yard freestyle (57.19).

Cortland also won both relays during the meet. Ford, Auer, Hickey and Cornetta teamed to win the 200-yard medley relay (1:53.17) and Cornetta, Caputo, senior Caitlin Lanigan (West Seneca/West Seneca West) and Culmo won the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:47.88).

Cortland returns to action on Friday, Jan. 17, when it hosts New Paltz at 1 p.m.
