CORTLAND, N.Y. - Hobart scored six of the last seven goals over the final two periods to erase a 3-1 deficit and defeated Cortland, 7-4, Friday night in non-conference men's hockey action at Alumni Arena.

For the Red Dragons (4-10-2), senior A.J. Moyer (Perkasie, PA/Buffalo Jr. Sabres) led the offense with one goal and two assists. Junior Christopher Marinakos (Orillia, ON/Brockport) and sophomores Ryan Wagner (Buffalo/Aberdeen Wings) and Mike Davie (Brooklyn/NY Apple Core) each tallied a goal. Junior Nick Zappia (Manlius/Kingston Voyageurs) recorded two assists, and senior Mike Henrici (North Haven, CT/Manhattanville), junior Kevin Antonik (Central Islip/Jersey Hitmen) and sophomore Kyle Herring (Valencia, CA/Rochester Stars) chipped in with one assist apiece. Senior goalie Lyle Rocker (Buffalo/Wisconsin-River Falls) stopped 39 shots.

Freshman Mitch Beyer (Clifton Park/Boston Jr. Bruins) paced the Statesmen (7-4-4) with two goals. Junior Peter Quigley (Monroe, CT/Hebron Academy) had one goal and two assists, while four others each netted a goal. Junior Ryan Michel (Camillus/Northwood School) and sophomore Bo Webster (Aurora, ON/Newmarket Hurricanes) collected three assists apiece. Sophomore goalie Lino Chimienti (Montreal, QC/Merritt Centennials) made 25 saves.

Cortland opened up a 3-1 lead after one period on goals from Moyer, Wagner and Davie, but Hobart took a 4-3 lead after two periods with a three-goal second as Beyer netted both of his scores. Sophomore Peter Gamache (Longlac, ON/Vernon Vipers) made it a 5-3 game with a short-handed goal at 6:45 of the third before Marinakos pulled Cortland to within 5-4 with a power-play goal at 11:52. The Statesmen, however, sealed the win with a goal at 15:15 on a 2-on-0 after a Cortland turnover and an empty-net score with 1:23 remaining.
