CORTLAND, N.Y. – Freshman
Adam Opsahl (East Lyme, CT) earned three individual victories and swam a leg on a winning relay during Cortland's 144-101 home dual-meet loss to New Paltz.
Opsahl won the 100-yard backstroke in 56.93 seconds, the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:21.49 and the 200-yard individual medley in 2:03.95. Freshman

Matt Latorre (Bethlehem) won the 200-yard medley relay (1:43.06) and freshman
Jamie Miller (Eden) was victorious in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.99).
Spatzer narrowly missed out on victories in a pair of runner-up finishes. He swam the 200-yard freestyle in 1:50.87, less than four tenths of a second behind the winner, and his time of 57.21 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly was only two hundredths of a second off the lead.
Junior
Esteban Rodriguez (Hartsdale/Woodlands) placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke behind Opsahl in 1:07.23 and Latorre was second in the 50-yard freestyle in 23.76 seconds. Two Cortland divers competed as exhibition entries. Sophomore
Lee Wade (Holtsville/Sachem East) won the 1-meter board (227.33 points) and 3-meter board (238.73 points), while senior
Kyle McManus (Oakdale/Connetquot) was second on both boards (186.36 points on 1-meter, 209.33 points on 3-meter).
Cortland will host Oswego on Wednesday, Jan. 22, at 4 p.m.
